Scenery on the Eagle River Division is a little further along this week. Around the Corner from Midwestern Elevator Company is another grain elevator, the Westburg Farmer’s Coop. This is assembled from another Walther’s kit. A little to the west of the MFA elevator is a freight depot. Even though it is the mid-seventies on the layout, the MOP is still dropping off and picking up LCL shipments with its fleet of blue and gray express boxcars. (I like these handsome 40-foot boxcars, but I’m not going to back-date the whole railroad just so I can justify their existence, so just try to deal with it.)
Here are some photos illustrating the latest retreat of the bare plywood scenery.
