LOCAL JOBS
LIME TIME (MoPac RR)
Stir up some dust as you move cement hoppers through the loader, make some car moves between the cement plant, quarry, and local yard, then run the LIME TURN, a local that exchanges cars at the quarry, yard, cement plant, and ready-mix company. Don’t forget to stop by Ewing Yard to drop off and pick up a few (cars). This one should keep you busy.
Stress level/experience level = moderate. Lots of switching but you can work at your own pace.
STEELY FAN (MoPac RR & Private RR)
Gateway Steel, Pillsbury Milling, and Eastern Electric Wire need switching. Break down the inbound local that just arrived, make a few local moves, and then build the outbound local, returning with it to Ewing Ave. Yard. What could be easier?
Stress/experience level = medium. Lots of switching. Requires concentration, but you can work at your own pace.
LUCKY 7 (MoPac RR)
It’s all trailing point work as you depart Ewing Ave. Yard with the Zone 7 Local, to service customers located along the northern part of the Carondelet Sub. Turn your train at 23rd Street Yard, and work more trailing point spurs on your return trip. (more…)
Southbound: work Louisa Food Processing, American Can Company, MFA Fertilizer, and McGraw Oil.
Northbound: work Coca-Cola Bottling, Quality Beverage Distributing, and Westinghouse Electric.
Stress/experience level = medium. All trailing point spurs makes this one easy, but you will be tying up the main line, so plan ahead and work efficiently.
CHOW LINE (T.R.R.A., MoPac)
Two turns and some light yard work makes up this collection. The Zone 3 Local just arrived, so start your shift reporting to Zone 3 to switch the brewery lumber yard. Return the Zone 3 train to 23rd Street Yard, and classify your train. Finally, change hats (and railroads) and run the T.R.R.A.’s Purina Turn to work Purina Mills, Wharf Street customers, and stop by Ewing Yard to pick up and drop off before terminating your train Eastside.
